Soulection all-star Sango comes through with his 4th installment of suburb sounds dedicated to the largest favela in Rio de Janeiro. The beatmaker’s signature style is unmistakable: Heavily rhytmic brazilian vocal samples are used to create a very dynamic and bass-driven soundscape. This is sometimes paired with organic or tropical melodies, at times the sound can even switch to a rave-like oppressive atmosphere. For me, that’s what makes Sango‘s music such a great crossover between modern atmospheric hip hop/rnb and electronic music elements where the percussive arrangement alone is making you go wild.
