Forgotten Gems: Oxmo Puccino – Pucc Fiction feat. Booba

Oh oh, it’s that time of the year again, where french 90s boom bap classics mark their way back into the daily playlist. The 1996 released “Pucc Fiction” is a great example of the creative sound that emerged from harsh social circumstances in suburban Paris during those years.

The track originally landed on the compilation mixtape “L432” which includes other standout french hip hop artists like La Squadra, Polo, Lunatic and more. Most interestingly, the production of these french cuts is really always on point. And although influences from the NYs hip hop scene (Nas, DJ Premier, Mobb Deep, Biggie) cannot be denied, they still sound original and succeed to transmit their individual emotions and messages.
