Queen Kali Uchis just released her 2nd studio album “Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios)”. The colombian songstress freshly comes off a Grammy nomination for Kaytranada’s latest standout single “10%”. Apart from that, the spanglish-singing-eye-candy has loads of potential to show on her latest project. Counting 13 tracks, the album is packed with versatile pieces and picks up the pace throughout the project.
The first half of the album is mostly dreamy, calm and reminds of a seductive and exotic version of Lana del Rey. The depressed R&B flick “fue mejor” with PARTYNEXTDOOR and “//aguardiente y limón %ᵕ‿‿ᵕ%” stand out to me here. Then, the mood changes to a more uplifting and reggaetonic style that is heard on “no eres tu (soy yo)” and “te pongo mal (prendelo)” with Jowell & Randy. Always been and always will be a fan of the mood and emotions Kali Uchis is able to transmit.
